National Earth-Kind™ Rose Research

Mission Statement

 

To plant, maintain and test a garden consisting of 90 roses (30 cultivars with 3 replications of each) to determine which roses qualify for designation as 'EARTH-KIND™ Rose' . This designation means the rose requires a minimum of care, minimum water, no pesticides, and no fertilizer yet produces blossoms of superior quality.

The EK Rose Research project ended October, 2009. It was a 3 year research project. The roses were not pruned or fertilized and pesticides were not used. Below are some photos of the finished project which demonstrate the growth of the roses over the 3 year period.
