Permian Basin Home Builders Association Home and Garden Show

Information

In 1999, the Permian Basin Home Builders Assoc. held their first Home & Garden Show at the Commemorative Air Force hanger. They graciously invited the Permian Basin Master Gardeners to be a part of it, at no cost to us. When they decided to move the show to the Midland Center, we were offered a larger complementary booth, which we have used to dispense literature on the care and culture of plants, plus other material which would help residents of this unique area to maintain their yards, and agricultural needs. We also have used 2 rooms on the lower level for educational programs.

In 2007 we moved our show to the new Horseshoe Arena. There, we have more room for our displays, etc. In addition to our educational programs, our booth will contain:

A water feature,

Free seeds to the public,

Literature & hand-outs,

Compost demonstration,

Plant Doctor booth (to help solve problems with grass, plants, and trees, etc.),

A greenhouse exhibit,

Jr. Master Gardener program for the young people, and much more.

Permian Basin Master Gardeners use this opportunity to assist our Texas A&M Agri-Life Extension horticultural agent to deliver research based horticultural information to the public.
