WEST TEXAS GARDENERS
VOLUNTEER AND EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR
The Permian Basin Master Gardeners (Midland/Ector Counties) began in 1991 by certifying 12 Master Gardeners. Today, the certified membership is 71.
Projects and gardens maintained by the PBMG are described in other areas of this web site, which first appeared in September, 2006, as a means to better reach our audience: all kinds of West Texas Gardeners!
The Permian Basin Master Gardener (PBMG) Program is a volunteer and educational program, whose members are trained by the Texas AgriLife Extension Service-Texas A&M University System.
The Permian Basin Master Gardener New Member Training Program runs annually from January through April. Classes are held on Thursdays from 9:00 am - 12:30 pm.
We offer classes on a variety of gardening subjects. The classes are once a month at the Odessa Food Bank. We have a class in the evening and the same class in the morning.
We offer a variety of resources for West Texas gardeners, including recommended plant lists, weekly blog posts, useful gardening tips, and educational materials from Texas A&M AgriLIFE Extension.
